Quality Engineer (Automotive) (EV manufacturing quality): Developing and implementing quality systems, manufacturing controls, inspections, and corrective actions for commercial electric vehicle production with an accent on supplier quality, APQP, and cross-functional process improvement. Focus on leading root-cause analysis, validating corrective actions, managing MRB and change-control activities, and improving quality KPIs across manufacturing and suppliers.
Location: Garden Grove, California, United States; onsite role with up to 25% travel

What you will do
- Develop and implement quality standards, quality control systems, and manufacturing quality processes.
- Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products against quality specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, suppliers, purchasing, and manufacturing teams to define controls and drive continuous improvement.
- Investigate quality problems using technical and statistical methods and develop corrective actions for supplier, production, and product issues.
- Lead APQP, root-cause analysis, MRB meetings, design reviews, and engineering change-control activities.
- Implement quality processes and KPIs across internal manufacturing, contract manufacturers, and suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
- Three to eight years of experience in manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering within automotive, aerospace, or an equivalent manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2018 or IATF 16949 and quality core tools including QMS, supplier and internal audits, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA, and MSA.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and travel up to 25%.
Nice to have
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Manager, or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
