TL;DR
Staff Process Quality Engineer (APQP/QMS): Advancing manufacturing quality and production readiness for an all-electric aircraft with an accent on APQP, QMS compliance, process risk mitigation, and regulatory requirements. Focus on developing PFMEA and PPAP deliverables, leading root-cause corrective actions, and improving process capability through SPC, Six Sigma, and Lean methods.

Location: San Jose, California, United States

Base pay: $152,100–$190,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning activities under AS9145 from concept through production launch.
  • Develop and improve Process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, process risk assessments, reliability audits, and APQP gate reviews.
  • Drive Production Part Approval Process activities, including Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, and Process Capability studies.
  • Author and maintain Quality Management System procedures, work instructions, and quality records supporting AS9100 and FAA 14 CFR Part 21 compliance.
  • Lead root-cause corrective action investigations and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, and Lean methods; define process KPIs and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

  • Experience leading APQP and manufacturing process quality activities.
  • Experience with PFMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, MSA, and Process Capability studies.
  • Knowledge of QMS procedures, AS9100 compliance, and FAA 14 CFR Part 21 requirements.
  • Experience with process risk assessments, reliability audits, RCCA investigations, and preventive or corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, process KPI definition, and manufacturing equipment maintenance planning.
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
