Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Belvidere, Illinois, United States. The role requires regular onsite manufacturing activities, domestic and global travel of up to 35%, and physical work including standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.

What you will do

• Manage supplier quality performance against KPIs using supplier quality tools and resources.
• Guide suppliers on quality expectations and objectives.
• Support new product introduction and Global Sourcing PPAP projects.
• Perform new supplier risk assessments and supplier quality audits.
• Lead PPAP, SCAR, Safe Launch Plan, and Supplier Contained Shipping activities.
• Collaborate with production facilities, engineering, global sourcing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective action.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing plant or supplier quality role.
• At least 1 year of experience with PPAP, APQP, control plans, PFMEA, and ISO quality management systems.
• Foreign language proficiency is required based on the region.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and quality metrics, lean principles, and advanced problem-solving methods.
• Ability to communicate effectively, present to different audiences, manage shifting priorities, and travel domestically and globally up to 35%.

Nice to have

• Experience with international companies and matrix organizations.
• Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt, or Certified Supplier Quality Auditor credentials.
• Experience with SAP or another ERP system, ETQ QMS, or Ariba.
