Director IT (AI)

Location: Hybrid work from the Woodlawn, MD or Clarendon, VA office once or twice a week; Arlington, VA and Baltimore, MD offices are also mentioned.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise infrastructure, networking, remote access, telephony, conferencing, identity, and endpoint operations.
• Partner with cloud and cybersecurity practices on cloud governance, access controls, developer tooling, incident response, and change management.
• Manage helpdesk services and the full employee technology lifecycle across onsite, remote, and client-site work arrangements.
• Own procurement, device fleets, SaaS subscriptions, vendors, IT assets, and the IT budget.
• Maintain compliance and security controls supporting federal requirements, including CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, FISMA, and CUI handling.
• Build and develop a high-performing IT team while enabling automation, self-service, AI-assisted operations, and scalable technology adoption.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure, networking, service delivery, or IT operations.
• 5+ years in senior IT leadership, including direct management of helpdesk or support functions and service-level accountability.
• Experience managing macOS and Windows device fleets at scale, including MDM, configuration baselines, and cross-platform security compliance.
• Experience managing or co-managing AWS, Azure, or GCP environments, including identity integration, governance, and collaboration with cloud or engineering teams.
• Hands-on expertise in enterprise networking, endpoint management, Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD, procurement, vendors, IT budgets, and ITSM practices.
• Working knowledge of federal contractor compliance frameworks and CUI requirements, with experience implementing controls and supporting audits.

Nice to have

• ITIL, CISSP, Security+, CCNP, Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, or PMP certification.
• Federal IT services or government contractor experience.
• Experience with zero trust, AI-assisted IT operations, rapid company growth, office expansion, or corporate certification audits.
