TL;DR
Production Planning Intern (Aerospace Manufacturing): Supporting production scheduling, material coordination, capacity planning, and operational data analysis in an aerospace manufacturing environment with an accent on inventory control, ERP/MRP data, and on-time delivery. Focus on identifying production constraints, building reports and KPIs, and contributing to Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects.
Location: On-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States

develops and supports aviation solutions, with this role focused on avionics recorder manufacturing and related production operations.
What you will do
- Assist with production scheduling, work-order tracking, production sequencing, and workflow planning against the Master Production Schedule.
- Monitor schedule performance, delivery risks, labor requirements, material availability, and equipment capacity.
- Analyze production, inventory, and planning data and create dashboards, reports, and KPIs.
- Support material shortage management, inventory planning, capacity analysis, and coordination with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams on operational projects.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills, with analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person because the position may involve access to information, technology, software, or hardware subject to U.S. export control laws.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Nice to have
- Previous internship, co-op, project, or coursework in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with Power BI or data visualization tools.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma concepts.
- Interest in aerospace manufacturing and operations.
