Salary: $140,000–$190,000 USD base annually; estimated total compensation including annual incentive compensation: $168,000–$228,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design and own the end-to-end architecture of an AI context data platform, including ingestion, parsing, enrichment, embeddings, vector indexing, retrieval, and serving.
• Define scalable patterns for incremental refreshes, backfills, re-embeddings, deduplication, lineage, and retrieval-quality optimization.
• Architect governed semantic layers, metrics, entities, data contracts, and context contracts for BI and AI agent reasoning.
• Own platform reliability, performance, monitoring, alerting, SLOs, incident response, testing, and cost optimization across Snowflake, lakehouse, and vector infrastructure.
• Implement security-by-design controls including access management, PII redaction, retention, audit logging, and governance for sensitive enterprise data.
• Lead technical roadmaps and architectural decisions across engineering, product, AI, security, legal, and compliance teams while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or platform roles with significant hands-on delivery.
• Expert SQL, strong Python or Scala/Java, and deep production engineering experience.
• Hands-on Snowflake expertise covering advanced data modeling, pipeline design, performance tuning, and production-scale operations.
• Experience designing cloud data architectures on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including storage, compute, orchestration, and networking.
• Hands-on experience with vector search, embeddings, semantic retrieval, hybrid search, and reranking using technologies such as pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenSearch, or Elastic.
• Production experience with dbt or comparable semantic-layer tooling, plus strong cross-functional communication and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting LLM applications, including RAG, agent tool interfaces, evaluation, and observability.
• Knowledge of knowledge graphs, semantic modeling, metrics layers, Iceberg, Delta Lake, or other open table formats.
• Experience in regulated environments and mature data governance programs.
• Prior formal or informal technical lead or staff engineer experience.
