Data Architect (Cloud Data)

Location: Remote - Nationwide within the United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship, including CPT/OPT sponsorship, is not available.

Base salary: $138,000–$200,100 per year, with potential participation in a bonus program.

What you will do

• Analyze complex data sets and translate business and technical requirements into scalable data architectures and models.
• Design and implement end-to-end architectures for data ingestion, storage, processing, and consumption.
• Develop logical and physical data models, data flows, architecture documentation, and reporting models.
• Apply data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses, batch processing, event-driven processing, and change data capture.
• Design cloud-native solutions, modernization plans, and migration strategies while ensuring scalability, reliability, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, security, analytics, and business stakeholders; provide technical guidance and support DevOps and DataOps practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, analytics engineering, or related technical roles, including at least 5 years in a data-centric role.
• Strong experience with logical and physical data modeling and tools such as ER/Studio, ERwin, or PowerDesigner.
• Advanced SQL and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2, or Redshift.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; big data frameworks such as EMR or Spark; distributed processing; data integration; and NoSQL technologies.
• Experience with analytics and visualization tools, Python, R, data governance, data quality, security, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting data platform modernization and migration programs.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to architecture and design reviews.
