Senior Storage Engineer (AI)

Salary: 147,900–220,000 USD OTE annually

What you will do

• Design, deploy, operate, and evolve ONTAP, Amazon FSx, Azure CVO, OCI, StorageGRID, E-Series, and supporting hirify.global tools.
• Manage NAS, SAN, and object storage services, including SVMs, volumes, LUNs, replication, S3 endpoints, and lifecycle policies.
• Lead provisioning, migrations, upgrades, disaster recovery, backup, compliance, retention, data protection, and cost optimization.
• Automate storage operations with PowerShell, Python, Ansible, REST APIs, ONTAP CLI/API, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code frameworks.
• Monitor performance, capacity, alerts, audit logs, and system events; lead troubleshooting, remediation, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with VMware, Windows, Linux, cloud, database, networking, security, and application teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• At least 12 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in enterprise storage, SAN fabrics, NAS protocols, WAN replication, backup topologies, and large data centers with hundreds of petabytes of data.
• Proficiency with Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NVMe-oF, NFS, CIFS/SMB, TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, NIS, and SMTP.
• Experience with Solaris, Red Hat/Linux, Windows, AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP.
• Knowledge of containers, APIs, databases, microservices, distributed systems, RAG, LLMs, MCP, Agentic AI, orchestration, and human-in-the-loop practices.
• Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and compliance with applicable hybrid in-office expectations are required.
