Senior Materials Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Columbia, South Carolina, United States, five days per week

Annual base salary: $113,810–$183,400

What you will do

• Own materials management, planning strategy, inventory control, and material flow for the site.
• Optimize scheduling, purchasing, inventory planning, supplier performance, indirect materials management, and logistics.
• Implement and maintain materials standards, including SIOP, PSI, cycle counting, and inventory planning processes.
• Coordinate with sourcing, engineering, accounting, marketing, materials operations, and quality assurance.
• Develop countermeasures for underperforming processes and suppliers while improving supplier relationships.
• Lead staff planning, delegation, professional development, and support for supplier selection and procurement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• At least 10 years of integrated materials management experience in a lean, MRP-based manufacturing environment.
• At least 5 years of managerial experience in planning and execution standardization, sourcing complexity reduction, and talent development.
• Experience with rate-based, flow-line, job-shop, sequenced or JIT manufacturing, inventory management, scheduling, MRP, NPD, and lean processes.
• Strong knowledge of integrated manufacturing, materials management, production planning, procurement, distribution, and information systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and team-building skills.

Nice to have

• APICS CPIM certification.
• Experience with visual management systems.
