Forward Deployed Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York City, with three days per week in the office and up to 50% travel

Salary: $170,000–$400,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Lead customer cybersecurity engagements from problem definition through technical resolution and business outcomes.
• Define deployment strategies and operating practices for fast, safe execution.
• Build and evaluate AI security workflows integrating customer security systems, access controls, and human oversight.
• Develop reusable deployment primitives, tools, and playbooks that increase customer impact and delivery velocity.
• Operate as a player-coach, provide actionable feedback, and help grow a high-performing engineering team.
• Identify risks and early signals across product behavior, customer environments, and delivery practices, escalating them with urgency.

Requirements

• 4+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience with established and emerging cybersecurity threats, including AI-enabled attack and defense, and the ability to translate them into detection and response workflows.
• Experience building and deploying cybersecurity solutions in Fortune 500 or similarly complex enterprises from prototype to production.
• 0→1 experience building reusable capabilities under ambiguity and making disciplined standardization-versus-customization decisions.
• Ability to write and review production-grade frontend and backend code using JavaScript or Python.
• Strong judgment, urgency, communication, and decision-making under pressure.
