Forward Deployed Engineer (Product)

Location: In-person at the London or San Francisco office, with occasional travel to customer sites and some work-from-home arrangements.

Salary: San Francisco $222,000–$290,000; London £149,000–£195,000.

What you will do

• Own customer deployments from architecture discussions through production rollout across cloud, on-premise, and self-hosted environments.
• Build integrations with coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, as well as SIEM, identity, security, and CI/CD systems.
• Configure and tune monitors, policies, and permissions against real customer traffic and resolve deployment issues.
• Run technical evaluations and proofs of concept, including architecture reviews, demos, security questionnaires, and procurement support.
• Manage technical escalations, incident communication, feature requests, and customer-specific capabilities.
• Convert deployment experience into documentation, tooling, runbooks, and reusable product features.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
• Strong engineering skills across Python and TypeScript, with the ability to read unfamiliar code quickly.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure, networking basics, deployment tooling, and environments outside direct control.
• Clear written and verbal communication with engineers, security leaders, and customers.
• High ownership, sound judgment about bespoke versus core product work, and comfort with startup pace and changing priorities.
• Ability to use AI heavily for engineering and customer work while maintaining a high quality standard.

Nice to have

• Experience in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or professional services.
• Enterprise deployment experience, including on-premise or VPC deployments, SSO, identity integration, security reviews, and procurement.
• Familiarity with SIEM, DLP, endpoint tooling, coding agents, technical evaluations, or customer POCs.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.

Hiring process

• Screening interview, followed by a three-hour take-home test, three technical interviews, and a final interview with the CEO.
• No LeetCode-style general coding interviews; AI tools may be used in the take-home test, with responsibility for the quality of the submission.
