Utility - Production (Manufacturing)

Location: Jackson, Alabama, United States; onsite production environment

Salary: $22.00 per hour starting rate

What you will do

• Perform varied production tasks according to business needs.
• Clean work areas and operate production machinery.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment as required.
• Operate pumps, control valves, agitators, or reactor equipment.
• Perform safe work permitting and lockout activities, including equipment isolation, draining, and deenergizing.
• Conduct basic laboratory procedures such as pH, conductivity, and titration measurements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• At least two years of paper mill or industrial manufacturing experience, two years of technical college study, or two years of related military experience.
• Availability for any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, noisy industrial conditions and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety footwear, hearing protection, respirators, and protective clothing.

Nice to have

• Pulp and paper industry experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills.

Hiring process

• Complete five timed written tests covering mechanical principles, arithmetic, spatial visualization, pattern comparison, and verbal ability.
• Participate in a structured four-person board interview covering work history, achievements, skills, interpersonal abilities, and physical work experience.
