Material Quality Engineering Co-Op (Semiconductor)

Location: San Luis Obispo, California, United States; on-site. Six-month co-op assignment from January through June 2027, working Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Salary: $20–$30 per hour, depending on overall skills and experience.

What you will do

• Analyze and trend supplier quality data and maintain supplier scorecards.
• Investigate raw-material quality issues and determine root causes.
• Implement corrective actions for internal and supplier-related quality issues.
• Review technical documentation, engineering drawings, specifications, and validation projects.
• Track changes and support quality administration, audit preparation, and follow-up actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a student and eligible to participate in a university co-op program.
• Available to work 40 hours per week from January through June.
• Studying engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering, or a similar field.
• Graduating in 2027 or spring 2028.
• Exposure to engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience with technical documentation, data organization, basic data analysis using Excel, Minitab, or similar tools, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with supplier quality, quality investigations, or manufacturing continuous improvement.
