Operations and Customer Quality Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Austin, TX, United States. Onsite role with approximately 10% travel; relocation is not eligible.

Salary: $78,500–$108,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead daily MRRT reviews and prioritize quality notifications, DMRs, and manufacturing excursions.
• Validate defect information, failure descriptions, supplier data, and supporting evidence.
• Drive containment actions to prevent production escapes and assign ownership across supplier, manufacturing, logistics, NPI, and engineering teams.
• Track corrective actions through closure and monitor DMR aging, backlog, and cycle-time metrics.
• Lead investigations into supplier escapes, recurring quality failures, manufacturing defects, and operational disruptions.
• Provide quality metrics, trend analysis, escalation management, and risk-based recommendations to site leadership.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of nonconforming material processes, MRB, MRRT, DMR, QN, SCAR, and 8D methodologies.
• Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems, supplier quality management, and corrective action processes.
• Understanding of SAP quality notification and material control processes.
• Experience analyzing trends and applying structured problem-solving methods to determine corrective actions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional reviews, communicate technical issues clearly, and drive accountability without direct reporting authority.
• Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX, with approximately 10% travel; relocation is not available.
