Engineering Manager – Design Engineering

Location: Remote, Maryland, United States

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 yearly plus discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Manage the day-to-day execution of design engineering work across multiple customer projects and product lines.
• Translate customer requirements into complete, accurate, and manufacturable engineering deliverables.
• Maintain engineering schedules and ensure timely completion of design packages, 3D models, customer submittals, and fabrication drawings.
• Lead technical problem-solving across design, procurement, fabrication, and installation phases.
• Ensure engineering bills of materials are complete, accurate, and aligned with approved designs.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Structural Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and customers while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
• At least 3 years of engineering leadership or people-management experience.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and engineering document-management systems; experience with Autodesk Inventor, Vault, Revit, or AutoCAD is preferred.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and BOM-release processes, along with practical knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly.
• Strong technical judgment, problem-solving, planning, communication, and organizational skills.
