Director, Digital Foundry

Location: Plymouth, Minnesota, United States — hybrid or remote

Salary: $142,600–$250,900 annual base salary in Minnesota, plus a 30% bonus

What you will do

• Lead the Digital Foundry function and oversee software engineering delivery, team performance, execution discipline, and business outcomes.
• Direct teams delivering custom software, enterprise platform extensions, integrations, APIs, and digital capabilities.
• Establish engineering standards, governance, delivery practices, operating rhythms, and lifecycle controls aligned with architecture, cybersecurity, QA, and DDLC requirements.
• Build and develop engineering teams, managers, contractors, vendors, and strategic delivery partners.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, QA, Cybersecurity, Data, Infrastructure, Integration, SaaS Platform, and business leaders on scalable solutions.
• Drive modernization, technical debt reduction, automation, platform evolution, engineering productivity, and executive reporting through delivery metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, SaaS platform delivery, digital product engineering, or related technical leadership.
• 5+ years leading teams, managers, vendors, or cross-functional engineering delivery.
• Knowledge of application architecture, front-end and back-end development, APIs, integrations, data flows, cloud solutions, and enterprise SaaS platforms such as Salesforce and IFS.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, DevOps and DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, release governance, quality controls, security, reliability, scalability, and operational readiness.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a technical, engineering, business, or technology management discipline.
• 12+ years leading enterprise-scale software engineering organizations or modernization programs.
• Experience with Salesforce, IFS, ERP, PLM, CRM, Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, infrastructure as code, observability, and release automation.
• Experience applying AI-enabled development, platform engineering, or internal software factory concepts.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial products, HVAC, building automation, connected products, or customer-facing digital solutions.
