Director Engineering Operations (AI SaaS)

Location: New York, New York, United States; Remote U.S.; or Washington, District of Columbia, United States. Hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite attendance required for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

Salary: $174,000–$220,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Own the engineering operating cadence, including QBRs, monthly business reviews, strategic planning, and organization-wide communications.
• Define engineering success metrics and performance dashboards, translating complex datasets into executive and Board-level insights.
• Maintain portfolio visibility for major engineering initiatives, identify risks early, and standardize delivery frameworks.
• Optimize engineering tools, workflows, automation, CI/CD, and AI-driven tools to improve velocity, reliability, and decision quality.
• Lead cross-functional programs such as cloud migrations, GRC frameworks, and GenAI adoption across Engineering, Product, Design, QA, and customer-facing teams.
• Build, mentor, and develop a globally distributed Engineering Operations and Program Management team.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of experience in Engineering Operations, software engineering leadership, Technical Program Management, transformation, strategy, or business operations in a high-growth SaaS environment.
• Experience defining operational frameworks, delivery standards, and KPI systems in a global organization.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, agile methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps, and microservices architectures.
• Advanced analytical skills with Excel, Looker, Tableau, or similar tools, including executive-ready data storytelling.
• Experience driving AI-related innovation, implementing tools, and influencing adoption at scale.
• Experience managing and developing teams, including 6+ FTEs across multiple geographies, with strong executive presence and stakeholder management.

• Experience in a private equity-backed SaaS company.
• Hands-on experience with OKRs and outcome-based planning.
• PMP, Agile, Lean, or equivalent practical experience in operational excellence.
