Product Designer (OTT)

Location: Hybrid, based at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, with office attendance generally required at least three days per week. Unrestricted US work authorization is required.

Salary: USD 115,000–130,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead product design strategy for CNBC digital products across web, mobile apps, and OTT.
• Design connected-TV experiences for MS Now and CNBC across Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung, and other major platforms.
• Own home screens, navigation, video players, content discovery, live coverage, and breaking-news experiences.
• Translate editorial priorities and content hierarchies into interfaces optimized for lean-back viewing and D-pad navigation.
• Partner with product, engineering, and editorial teams to define interaction patterns, platform constraints, and release requirements.
• Extend OTT design systems and use research, analytics, and platform best practices to improve usability and engagement.

Requirements

• 2+ years of product design, UX/UI design, or interaction design experience, including OTT, streaming, or connected-TV products.
• Portfolio demonstrating dual-screen interaction, 10-foot UI, lean-back viewing, or media-rich platform experience.
• Strong understanding of information architecture, D-pad interaction patterns, platform constraints, and connected-TV UX conventions.
• Experience designing consumer-facing products across multiple platforms or screen contexts, including live video or streaming workflows.
• Experience contributing to scalable design systems and communicating design decisions across product and engineering teams.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States and be available for the hybrid office schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience in a large, matrixed media organization or multi-brand digital ecosystem.
• Background in streaming media, digital news, broadcast-adjacent products, or financial news.
• Experience with habitual news consumption, live events, personalization, content recommendations, or AI-assisted discovery.
• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
