Senior Medical Science Liaison (Pharmaceutical)

Location: Field-based role covering Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Applicants should reside within 30 miles of a major airport and within 50 miles of the established territory. Overnight travel and significant driving are required, with business travel by air or car for up to 70% of the time.

Salary: $161,300–$299,500 per year, plus a discretionary annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide clinical and health economic information about approved and pipeline medicines and relevant disease states.
• Engage healthcare providers, population health decision makers, patients, and scientific thought leaders within the assigned region.
• Build relationships with external medical customers and identify evolving healthcare trends and customer insights.
• Collaborate with regional partners to co-create and deliver the local medical strategy.
• Discuss value, total cost of care, adverse-event management, and patient outcomes beyond scientific exchange.
• Maintain therapeutic-area knowledge through continuous learning and upskilling programs while following guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

• Advanced clinical or science degree such as MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, or PA; BSN candidates must have extensive field medical experience with a pharmaceutical company.
• At least 5 years of related clinical, managed care, or industry experience.
• Proficiency in Good Clinical Practice and ICH requirements.
• Knowledge of the relevant therapeutic area, product and safety profiles, managed care, health economics, reimbursement, and pharmaceutical legal and regulatory requirements.
• Residence in Pennsylvania is preferred, with proximity to a major airport and the established territory required.
• Ability to travel regularly and drive a company-provided or personal vehicle is required.

Nice to have

• Previous field medical science liaison experience.
• At least 2 years of clinical or health economic research experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in the relevant therapy area.
• In-depth knowledge of Phase IV and post-marketing drug development.
