Senior Medical Science Liaison (Rheumatology)

Location: US territory covering New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and Washington, DC; up to 70% travel required

Base pay: $137,000–$235,750 per year

What you will do

• Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and territory priorities.
• Build professional relationships with rheumatology key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and academic and community teams.
• Provide objective, non-promotional scientific education and translate complex clinical evidence into clear discussions and presentations.
• Identify treatment trends, unmet needs, educational gaps, risks, and opportunities that inform medical strategy.
• Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies and respond to unsolicited scientific and clinical inquiries.
• Collaborate with MSL, R&D, Medical Affairs, clinical operations, and other cross-functional partners in a compliant matrixed environment.

Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or advanced practice provider qualification.
• Postgraduate experience for doctoral-level candidates and at least 2 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated success as an MSL.
• Strong scientific and therapeutic expertise in research, data analysis, clinical practice, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration.
• Ability to support the defined US territory with up to 70% travel.
• Valid US driver’s license required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, computers, and remote technologies.

• Residency or fellowship experience.
• Knowledge or experience in rheumatology or a related therapeutic area.
• Clinical, research, or pharmaceutical work experience.
• Location in or near Baltimore, Rockville, or Washington, DC.
• Experience exploring and applying emerging technologies such as AI.
