Senior Medical Science Liaison (Rheumatology)

Location: New City, New York, United States; Northeast territory covering South New York including NYC, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Up to 70% travel is required.

Base pay: $137,000–$235,750 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and territory objectives.
• Build professional relationships with rheumatology key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and academic and community teams.
• Conduct balanced, non-promotional scientific exchange and tailor clinical education to stakeholder needs.
• Evaluate emerging data, identify treatment trends and unmet needs, and provide support for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
• Collect actionable insights that inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional decisions.
• Collaborate compliantly with MSL partners, R&D, U.S. and global Medical Affairs, clinical operations, and other internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or an advanced practice provider qualification.
• Postgraduate experience for doctoral candidates and at least 2 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated MSL success.
• Strong scientific and therapeutic expertise in research, data analysis, clinical practice, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration.
• Ability to support the defined Northeast U.S. territory with up to 70% travel.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, computers, and remote technologies.

• Residency or fellowship experience.
• Knowledge or experience in rheumatology or a related therapeutic area.
• Clinical, research, or pharmaceutical experience.
• Experience learning and applying emerging technologies such as AI.
• Residence in a major metro area, with NYC, New Haven, Brooklyn, or Burlington preferred.
