Senior Medical Science Liaison (Rheumatology)

Location: Pacific Northwest territory, United States, including Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Northern California. Field-based role with up to 70% travel; Portland, Boise, or Spokane preferred.

Salary: $137,000–$235,750 per year

What you will do

• Develop and implement a scientific engagement plan aligned with Medical Affairs strategy and medical priorities.
• Build professional relationships with rheumatology key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and community providers.
• Conduct balanced, non-promotional scientific exchanges and tailor clinical evidence to stakeholder needs.
• Identify treatment trends, unmet needs, educational gaps, risks, and opportunities within the territory.
• Support company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies, research inquiries, and internal research and grant processes.
• Generate actionable insights for medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional decision-making, including through AI tools.

Requirements

• Doctorate-level degree or equivalent experience, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or an advanced practice provider qualification.
• Postgraduate experience for doctoral-level candidates, with preference for therapeutic clinical experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated success as a Medical Science Liaison.
• Strong scientific and therapeutic expertise in research, data analysis, clinical practice, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Valid US driver's license required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot, computers, and remote technologies.

• Residency or fellowship experience.
• Rheumatology or related therapeutic-area knowledge.
• Clinical, research, or pharmaceutical experience.
• Experience with emerging technologies such as AI and a demonstrated commitment to learning and applying new tools.
• Residence in a major metropolitan area, particularly Spokane, Boise, or Portland.
