Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Location: 5 days onsite in a SCIF in Reston, Virginia, United States

Salary: $150,000–$185,000 per year, plus potential bonuses and additional incentives

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor AWS cloud resources across secure government environments.
• Manage operations tickets, troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and access issues, and support incident response.
• Implement IaaS and PaaS solutions while improving performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop scripts and infrastructure-as-code configurations to automate deployments, monitoring, and cloud management.
• Apply cloud and network security controls, collect compliance evidence, and support remediation activities.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams on technical requirements, architecture reviews, and operational documentation.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, with emphasis on cloud solution design and architecture.
• Extensive experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and EBS.
• Experience building and leading AWS infrastructure across multiple classification domains, including IL5 to IL6+.
• Expertise creating, managing, and hardening cloud-based desktop OS images using AMIs.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, microservices, serverless computing, Docker, Kubernetes, enterprise authentication, and authorization.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly, current 8140/8570-compliant certification, and United States work eligibility are required.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as Security+ or higher.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
