HVAC Technician

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; onsite five days per week

Annual base salary: $62,500–$128,700 USD; hourly compensation

What you will do

• Commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up commercial HVAC systems for customers across healthcare, manufacturing, education, and office environments.
• Coordinate with team leaders, project managers, customers, and other partners on installations, retrofits, repairs, materials, and schedules.
• Diagnose and repair equipment using software, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
• Act as the direct customer contact and maintain responsibility for assigned equipment, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business needs require.
• Enforce safety standards and maintain records for company assets, equipment use, wear, and condition.

Requirements

• Good standing as a member of UA Local 787 and at least 5 years of HVAC experience.
• Red Seal in HVAC (313A) and a Gas 1 ticket required.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers such as smartphones or iPads.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, use ladders, access rooftops and confined areas, wear required safety equipment, and perform physically demanding work.
• Ability to lift and move equipment, stand on concrete for extended periods, climb, kneel, stoop, and work at heights and in variable weather and mechanical environments.
