Head of Hardware TPM (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base salary: $195,000–$260,000 USD per year, plus equity, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own hardware program roadmaps, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and risk tracking across sensor, compute, harnessing, and vehicle-integration programs.
• Lead and develop a team of three technical program managers while setting standards for program rigor, reporting, and communication.
• Partner with Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Safety/Compliance to de-risk programs and manage cross-functional dependencies.
• Drive design reviews, gate reviews, change management, ECOs/ECRs, escalations, and executive status reporting.
• Set the strategic direction for hardware program management processes, tooling, metrics, PLM systems, and release processes.
• Support hardware leadership with organization design, resourcing, prioritization, and customer-facing program updates.

Requirements

• 10+ years of technical program management experience with deep hardware experience in mechanical, electrical, or systems-level development.
• 4+ years of direct experience managing TPMs or program managers and developing senior individual contributors.
• Strong knowledge of hardware development lifecycles, including DFM/DFA, EVT/DVT/PVT validation gates, ECOs, and PLM processes.
• Experience shipping complex hardware systems on schedule and at scale, with strong risk identification and mitigation skills.
• Excellent executive communication and the ability to summarize complex programs through clear risk and status narratives.
• Experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, autonomous vehicle systems, sensor hardware, or safety-critical hardware is valuable.
