TL;DR
Senior Technical Program Manager (Robotics): Leading complex automation and robotics programs from new-product development through site deployment, commissioning, production, and sustainment with an accent on cross-functional planning, system integration, and customer acceptance. Focus on coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and operational-readiness workstreams, resolving technical risks, and delivering electro-mechanical systems on schedule.

Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA; hybrid work. Up to 25% travel to client and customer locations may be required.

Base salary: $149,000–$223,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Lead complex automation and robotics programs from concept and new-product development through implementation, delivery, production deployment, and sustainment.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and engineering deliverables across software, mechanical, electrical, industrial, and embedded-controls teams.
  • Coordinate integrated planning across engineering, procurement, site preparation, installation, commissioning, acceptance, and operational readiness.
  • Align internal teams, customers, vendors, construction partners, consultants, and suppliers on dependencies, requirements, performance, and delivery commitments.
  • Translate technical issues into business impacts, options, risks, and recommendations for executives and customers.
  • Maintain project artifacts including bills of material, technical data packages, functional requirements, and validation documentation.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of related experience, including at least 5 years in program management.
  • Experience delivering complex automation programs combining new-product development and customer-site implementation.
  • Experience with construction, facilities, infrastructure, site readiness, system integration, verification, commissioning, operational readiness, and acceptance.
  • Experience managing large-scale electro-mechanical, mechatronics, robotics, hardware, and software integration programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with JIRA, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio; strong conflict-resolution, negotiation, prioritization, and influencing skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience partnering with third-party vendors on electro-mechanical or robotics products through launch and sustainment.
  • Experience with robotic controls, routing, networking, vision, perception systems, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing practices.
