Employment and Compliance Counsel (Blockchain)

Location: Remote, Massachusetts / United States

Compensation: $220K–$270K, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Advise internal stakeholders on global employment law, including employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances, compensation, benefits, contingent workers, classification, and global mobility.
• Prepare and negotiate employment, severance, and other employment-related agreements.
• Manage internal investigations involving employee misconduct, policy or legal violations, disputes, and litigation.
• Develop, implement, and review workplace and compliance policies, processes, guidance, and company-wide training.
• Liaise with external counsel in the U.S. and other jurisdictions.
• Collaborate across Legal and other functions while providing commercially astute, risk-appropriate advice.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and 4–6 years of experience at a top-tier law firm and in SaaS, data services, or technology companies.
• Active membership in good standing of a U.S. state bar.
• Expertise in U.S. and global employment law and pragmatic, commercial legal advising.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, critical thinking, judgment, and risk mitigation skills.
• Ability to own work independently, collaborate across the company, and manage shifting priorities in a demanding environment.

Nice to have

• Experience advising executives at high-growth technology companies.
• Familiarity with or interest in cryptocurrency and blockchain.
