Senior Legal Counsel, Product (AI/Blockchain)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $193,333–$215,000 estimated base salary per year, with potential eligibility for equity.

What you will do

• Partner with Product and Engineering from product conception through launch.
• Advise on blockchain data collection, sourcing, licensing, and the use of first- and third-party data.
• Counsel on AI/ML development, including training data, model inputs and outputs, transparency, and emerging regulations.
• Handle product intellectual property, open-source use, terms of service, acceptable-use policies, and data terms.
• Partner with Privacy Counsel on product specifications, technical architectures, data flows, minimization, and compliance.
• Identify legal risks and build scalable playbooks and self-service resources for product teams.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
• 6–8 years of legal experience with substantial product-counseling experience.
• Experience advising Product and Engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of data use and licensing, intellectual property, AI/ML, consumer-facing terms, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, cross-jurisdictional environments and communicate legal complexity clearly.
• Comfort using AI tools in legal workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting government or financial-institution customers.
• Familiarity with blockchain, cryptocurrency, or fintech.
