Regulatory Lead Legal Counsel (Fintech)

Location: Remote in the European Region; hybrid workplace with optional offices and relocation support

What you will do

• Lead regulatory legal support for payment services and digital asset products, including MiCA, PSD2, PSD3/PSR and related EU frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments, conduct gap and impact assessments, and lead the implementation of legal and operational changes.
• Advise on products, customer journeys, partnerships, business models, merchant arrangements and outsourcing structures.
• Lead licensing, authorization, regulatory perimeter and market-entry assessments across relevant jurisdictions.
• Manage regulatory enquiries, inspections, information requests, external counsel and interactions with regulators.
• Lead, review and prioritize the work of the regulatory legal team and support team member development.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm, Big Four advisory practice, financial institution, fintech or crypto business.
• Strong knowledge of the EU regulatory framework for payment services and digital assets, particularly MiCA, PSD2 and PSD3/PSR.
• Hands-on experience with regulatory licensing, market entry, product launches and regulatory change projects.
• Understanding of AML/CTF, DORA, outsourcing and data protection requirements.
• Experience managing complex cross-border workstreams and working with regulators, external counsel and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
