Senior Legal Counsel (Regulatory)

What you will do

• Provide strategic legal guidance on stablecoin, payments, and card products and features.
• Advise Product, Compliance, Commercial, and GTM teams on UK, EU, and Middle Eastern regulatory requirements.
• Draft, maintain, review, and negotiate customer-facing legal documents and commercial agreements.
• Support card programme compliance under Visa and Mastercard rules and UK/EEA issuing frameworks.
• Own the global data privacy legal function and advise on UK GDPR and EU GDPR matters.
• Monitor regulatory developments, manage outside counsel, and engage with regulators and industry associations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of post-qualification experience and qualification in England and Wales or an EU Member State.
• Experience advising on digital assets and payments in a top law firm or in-house environment.
• Strong knowledge of the FCA regulatory framework and UK financial services law.
• Working knowledge of EU financial services regulation, including MiCA, PSD2, EMD2, and MLD5/6, plus at least one MENA regulatory framework.
• Hands-on expertise in UK GDPR and/or EU GDPR, with familiarity with AML/CTF, sanctions, and Travel Rule obligations.
• Ability to communicate clearly, manage stakeholders, make decisions under ambiguity, and work across multiple jurisdictions.
