Cabin Design Engineer Sr (Contract)

Location: On-site in the Mobile Area, Alabama, United States. Must be authorized to work in the US. Travel required: 5% domestic and international.

What you will do

• Develop and mature aircraft cabin and cargo interior design solutions from concept through installation.
• Perform detail part design, layout maturation, trade studies, certification activities, and in-service support.
• Create and update technical documentation using hirify.global computer-based applications.
• Collaborate with engineering departments and airline customers to develop integrated design solutions.
• Lead technical discussions, prepare complex business and technical presentations, and support project milestones.
• Mentor less experienced designers and engineers and improve team processes, methods, and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, civil, mechanical, electrical, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• At least nine years of experience in cabin and cargo design or aircraft system installation projects.
• At least two years of project management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of design principles, documentation, engineering drawings, technical procedures, bill of materials systems, and aircraft regulatory requirements.
• Experience with 3D modeling; CATIA experience is preferred. Strong computer skills, including MS Excel and Google Suite.
• Effective written and verbal English communication and authorization to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Experience working with airlines or MRO organizations.
• Programming experience in C, C++, Python, or other languages.
• Working knowledge of hirify.global Structures.
• Conversational French or German.
