What you will do

  • Own the design, analysis, development, and delivery of electromechanical systems for Terran R avionics.
  • Design enclosures, electrical interfaces, thermal accommodations, and interfaces with launch vehicle systems.
  • Develop mass-efficient mechanical packaging that can withstand launch and space environments.
  • Perform structural and thermal analysis, hardware testing, debugging, and design iteration.
  • Drive the delivery and qualification of flight-ready avionics systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, packaging, and thermal management for aerospace or ruggedized electronic systems.
  • Experience delivering mechanical systems from concept through qualification and flight.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent, plus structural and thermal analysis tools.
  • Hands-on experience building, testing, and debugging hardware in a laboratory environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, rapidly iterating environment.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with NASA or other spaceflight structural verification standards, environmental testing, and qualification.
  • Experience designing mechanical systems for launch vehicle or spacecraft avionics.
  • Experience designing mechanical components for power systems or batteries, including material selection and thermal management.
