Estimating Engineer II (Wire Harness Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Review drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and non-standard configurations to understand customer requirements.
• Develop and validate detailed labor estimates for crimping, soldering, testing, inspection, and other manufacturing processes.
• Analyze time-study and historical cost data to validate assumptions and improve estimate accuracy.
• Identify and communicate cost, schedule, and manufacturability risks to Program Management.
• Lead win/loss analysis and support pricing strategy, proposal development, and customer or program reviews.
• Guide less experienced estimators and drive process improvements within the estimating function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5+ years of estimating experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in wire harness or cable assembly.
• Strong understanding of wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing processes under IPC/WHMA-A-620.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills, including the ability to present and defend estimates.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
• Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residency, qualifying refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Estimating experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
• Familiarity with AS9100 standards and aerospace industry requirements.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, customer drawings, specifications, purchase-order requirements, proposal pricing, or customer negotiations.
