District Planning Specialist (Electrical Distribution)

Location: Wildomar Service Center, Wildomar, California, United States. Hybrid work mode; employees must work and reside in California. Up to 40% travel and field work throughout the SCE service territory may be required. Relocation does not apply.

What you will do

• Develop electrical distribution plans, construction drawings, circuit maps, resource plans, cost estimates, and work-order documentation.
• Support residential, commercial, and industrial distribution projects, including overhead and underground facilities.
• Coordinate project requirements with customers, internal departments, government agencies, and external sources.
• Manage multiple projects, timelines, budgets, risks, escalations, and changing priorities.
• Perform field inspections, gather planning data, and verify compliance with approved plans.
• Provide technical support for licensing and certification proceedings involving distribution and transmission facilities.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in electrical utility distribution, transmission, telecommunications design or construction, or an engineering discipline.
• Valid Class C driver's license.
• Ability to read or create basic distribution or technical drawings and apply engineering, construction, mapping, mathematical, or scientific information.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, make decisions with minimal supervision, and maintain accuracy.
• Ability to collaborate with customers, peers, management, agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Must work and reside in California; the position requires hybrid facility attendance and field travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD, GIS, Microsoft Office, project management, quality control, customer service resolution, or utility planning.
• Planner Utility Certification Program completion.
• Experience coordinating technical, construction, or utility customer and stakeholder interactions.
