Field Service Technical Specialist (Automotive/Telematics)

Location: High Wycombe, England, United Kingdom; flexible hybrid working model. International travel of up to 40% may be required.

What you will do

• Support product design by analyzing user requirements, defining specifications, and conducting field and simulation testing.
• Provide technical support to customers, resellers, sales teams, installation partners, and installers.
• Develop installation requirements, wiring schematics, technical documentation, product guides, videos, and training materials.
• Create installer certification tests, evaluate installer performance, conduct audits, and maintain installation quality standards.
• Perform field installations for demonstrations, training, and pilot projects when required.
• Resolve installer issues, support invoicing and ticketing processes, qualify new installation partners, and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in telematics, automotive installation field service, or an equivalent technical environment.
• Experience with OBD and CAN communications, SAE vehicle standards, serial data interfaces, and automotive electronic components.
• Experience integrating hardware and software, using automotive and electronics test equipment, and working with hand tools.
• Knowledge of cellular, GPS, serial data, communications systems, and networks.
• Strong communication, customer service, analytical, problem-solving, relationship-building, and multitasking skills.
