Claims Desktop Motor Engineer

Location: Remote after initial training on site in Sevenoaks or Liverpool, UK

What you will do

• Assess whether damaged vehicles should be repaired or treated as total losses using engineering tools, guidelines, and commercial judgment.
• Prepare reports, estimates, repair authorisations, and vehicle valuations accurately and promptly.
• Obtain safe, cost-effective repairs and supervise repair progress and account payments.
• Classify and dispose of salvage in line with ABI guidelines.
• Build effective relationships with claims handlers, repairers, and intermediaries.
• Mitigate hire, storage, and recovery costs while monitoring repair quality and average repair costs.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of motor vehicle accident repair methods.
• Experience in estimating and negotiation.
• VDA, ATA, or AQP accreditation.
• Thorough knowledge of computerised estimation systems, including Audatex and Glassmatix.
• Thorough knowledge of Thatcham Escribe.
• At least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
