Field Motor Engineer

Location: United Kingdom; fully remote workplace with field-based engineering responsibilities covering Bristol, Yeovil, Bournemouth, and Southampton. Working hours: 08:30–17:00.

What you will do

• Produce accurate and detailed motor engineering reports.
• Inspect vehicle damage and assess, value, and negotiate repair costs.
• Provide vehicle valuations and negotiate total loss settlements.
• Apply salvage category knowledge and manage claims through resolution.
• Liaise with repairers, customers, and internal teams while supporting colleagues.

Requirements

• Qualification to IAEA or ATA (VDA) standard.
• Experience in an insurer or independent engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of claims processes and salvage categorisation.
• Experience with estimating systems such as Audatex, GT Motive, or Glass’s.
• Ability to inspect cars, HGVs, agricultural machinery, and caravans.
• Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, problem-solving, time-management, and customer complaint-resolution skills.
