Assistant Controller (ILS/Direct Access)

Location: New York, NY; hybrid

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage financial reporting processes, including monthly performance estimates, close packages, NAVs, allocations, waterfalls, and fund returns.
• Support investor reporting, including monthly statements, annual audits, and due diligence requests.
• Prepare cash management forecasts, budgets, expense registers, and investment capital availability analyses.
• Oversee compliance with fund credit facilities and perform portfolio data reconciliation and compliance testing.
• Review management fee and performance fee calculations and respond to investor questions about performance, NAVs, and taxes.
• Support audits, tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and the onboarding of new direct investment and hedge fund vehicles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory, fund accounting, and financial reporting.
• 5–8 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal daily direction and collaborate across the organization.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience with credit-related products, loan settlement, and trade reconciliations.
• Experience with direct investment or hedge fund accounting and reporting.
