Senior Accountant (Financial Services)

Location: New York, NY, United States

Salary: USD 100,000–130,000 per year, plus discretionary performance-based bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform daily and month-end accounting activities for regulated and non-regulated entities.
• Prepare financial statements, cash reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions, and capital allocation schedules.
• Support consolidated reporting for overseas entities and prepare U.S. Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics reports.
• Collaborate with Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Payroll on global intercompany relationships, tax provisions, cash management, and forecasting.
• Research accounting treatments and provide recommendations to management.
• Design, test, and use automated reconciliation, financial reporting, and profit-reporting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and strong knowledge of GAAP.
• CPA license required.
• 2–4 years of experience at a Big 4 or reputable public accounting firm, or in corporate accounting within financial services.
• Strong Excel skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Hands-on experience with command-line tools, basic coding, and AI assistants for automation.
• Detail orientation, multitasking ability, and strong time management skills.

Nice to have

• VBA, SQL, and Workday Financials experience.
• Partnership or investment accounting experience.
