Staff Product Designer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in New York City, San Francisco, or Phoenix, United States

Salary: $225,000–$245,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead qualitative customer research, contextual inquiries, workflow mapping, and usability validation with financial advisors, executives, legal staff, and end-clients.
• Own interaction design and information architecture for complex legal document, financial data, and estate planning workflows.
• Represent UX in enterprise client meetings, presenting frameworks and end-to-end user journeys.
• Define navigation systems, task flows, interaction patterns, accessibility standards, and consistent product behaviors.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to translate research into user flows, edge-case coverage, and interaction specifications.
• Use market patterns and behavioral metrics to improve user efficiency across the platform.

Requirements

• 10+ years of digital product design or equivalent design leadership experience.
• Experience designing interaction architectures for complex enterprise SaaS or fintech platforms.
• Expertise in customer research, interviews, usability testing, information architecture, mental models, and complex task flows.
• Ability to translate legal, regulatory, financial, estate planning, tax, and document-processing complexity into clear user steps.
• Experience combining qualitative feedback with usage metrics, task completion times, and user efficiency analytics.
• Strong communication skills for presenting complex interaction models to executives, technical teams, and enterprise clients.
