Principal Product Designer (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY, USA or San Francisco, CA, USA. The in-office policy requires four days per week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office; a fully remote program is also available.

Salary: $222,000–$290,000 base salary, plus bonus eligibility, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead design for spending, savings, and investing experiences from early concepts through launch and iteration.
• Create polished mobile experiences with strong typography, layout, interaction, motion, and visual detail.
• Translate complex financial concepts into clear, approachable experiences that support informed decisions.
• Explore ideas, build prototypes, and refine product directions using feedback.
• Partner with product, engineering, research, and content design to deliver member-focused solutions.
• Provide critique, mentor designers, and raise design quality across the app.

Requirements

• Deep experience designing consumer mobile products and a portfolio showing exceptional visual craft and shipped work.
• Experience leading complex product design projects as a senior individual contributor.
• Strong interaction design skills and the ability to simplify sophisticated experiences.
• Ability to define and communicate a design vision while managing detailed execution.
• Experience using research, customer feedback, and product data to improve designs.
• Ability to build cross-functional trust, navigate competing priorities, and align teams.
