Senior Staff Product Designer - Consumer Group, Credit Karma (Fintech)

Location: Oakland, California or Mountain View, California

Salary: $203,000–$274,500 annual base pay, plus potential cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead design initiatives for Credit Karma engagement, personal finance, and money management products.
• Set product vision and shape end-to-end member journeys across web and mobile platforms, with a mobile-first focus.
• Translate complex financial concepts into simple, accessible, and engaging experiences through flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Use customer research, data, and hypothesis testing to refine solutions and measure impact.
• Extend design systems and deliver scalable platform solutions, frameworks, design specifications, and ideal-state prototypes.
• Mentor designers, influence cross-functional strategy, and communicate design concepts to product, engineering, research, analytics, and service design partners.

Requirements

• 10+ years of UX, UI, or product design experience, including at least 2 years in a staff or senior staff-level role.
• Significant experience designing mobile applications and shipping consumer-facing digital products.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design and the ability to solve ambiguous problems.
• Expertise in visual, interaction, systems, human-centered, accessible, and usability-focused design.
• Experience with user research, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, and problem framing.
• Ability to collaborate with product, engineering, research, data, and analytics teams while influencing stakeholders and mentoring other designers.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, banking, financial wellness, or mobile product development.
• Familiarity with Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design.
