TL;DR
Junior Analyst (Energy Programs): Supporting the Department of Energy's EECBG grant program across the full grant lifecycle with an accent on project monitoring, technical evaluations, financial tracking, and compliance documentation. Focus on reviewing recipient submissions, identifying corrective actions, tracking milestones and budgets, and completing award closeout activities.

Salary: $65K–$85K annually, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Support project monitoring across the full grant lifecycle, including application review, plan review, post-award monitoring, and closeout.
  • Provide desktop and on-site monitoring support for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program.
  • Evaluate recipient submissions, identify corrective actions, and recommend refined project requirements.
  • Track milestones, budgets, and technical targets against approved plans and report discrepancies to Project Officers.
  • Review performance and financial reports for compliance with statutes, program guidance, and award terms.
  • Maintain official documentation in Department of Energy systems and perform quality assurance reviews of closeout files.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, environmental sciences, or a related discipline; four years of relevant education or experience may substitute.
  • At least four years of relevant experience; a master’s degree may substitute for two years.
  • Experience with the Federal Government, preferably the Department of Energy.
  • Experience with financial assistance documentation and financial tracking systems.
  • Experience in technical writing, editing, document development, production, layout, and desktop publishing.
  • Knowledge of modeling, measurement, mathematics, statistics, operational mathematics, economic disciplines, and operational research principles.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program.
  • Experience supporting the Office of State and Community Energy Programs or the Department of Energy.
  • Familiarity with Department of Energy systems.
