What you will do

  • Provide immediate treatment, stabilization, and transportation for sick and injured patients.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely and maintain vehicles and equipment in a constant state of readiness.
  • Respond to hazardous environments, extricate patients, and coordinate care with external agencies.
  • Complete patient care reports, electronic patient care records, and incident documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and communicate professionally with patients, families, hospitals, public agencies, and management.
  • Participate in continuing education, quality assurance, community education, and professional development activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Alberta operator’s licence, Class 1, 2, or 4.
  • Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
  • Completion of Alberta Health Services MCPs and current CPR certification.
  • FARE certification.
  • Good physical health and ability to lift and move heavy patients and work in hazardous conditions.
