Casual Staff Pharmacist - Express Scripts Canada

Location: Burnaby, BC, Canada; on-site

Salary: CAD 48–51 per hour

What you will do

• Verify prescriptions, medications, labels, controlled substances, and prescription data in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
• Provide patient counseling on new prescriptions and respond to clinical queries.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and provide quality assurance for dispensing activities.
• Train and mentor less-experienced or new pharmacists and technicians.
• Adapt priorities to business needs and provide backup support for other pharmacists.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Valid British Columbia pharmacist license required.
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, prescription interpretation, and medication safety.
• Strong customer service, communication, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts or on call, including flexible hours during peak volumes.
• Employment is conditional on reference checks, background verification, and obtaining an Enhanced Reliability Clearance when required.

Nice to have

• Experience in a retail or mail-order pharmacy setting.
• Experience with Kroll Pharmacy software.
• Knowledge of the pharmacy benefits management or managed care industry.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
