Lead Medical Writer (Oncology)

Location: Remote or hybrid in the US or Toronto, with East Coast time-zone alignment

Salary: $110,000–$125,000 per year, dependent on experience and location.

What you will do

• Lead medical writing and client communication for assigned accounts.
• Develop congress materials, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and plain language summaries.
• Provide scientific oversight for large or complex medical communications projects.
• Coordinate editorial, client, vendor, and project teams to deliver work on time and within budget.
• Brief, review, guide, and mentor less experienced writers.
• Support business development, strategic publications planning, client meetings, advisory boards, and speaker-training meetings.

Requirements

• Degree in life sciences; a PharmD or PhD is advantageous.
• At least 3 years of experience in medical or scientific writing within a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency.
• Experience developing and reviewing scientific content across multiple therapeutic areas, including publications.
• Experience owning projects, solving problems proactively, and collaborating across teams.
• Strong client communication and relationship-management skills.
• Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines for medical communications.
