TL;DR
Senior Medical Writer (Publications) (Medical Communications): Researching, writing, and editing manuscripts, abstracts, slide presentations, posters, and other scientific deliverables with an accent on publication standards, scientific accuracy, and pharmaceutical and clinical data. Focus on independently distilling study data, applying AMA style and good publication practices, and delivering high-quality materials on schedule.
Location: Hybrid, three days onsite for candidates within an hour of the Liberty Village office; fully remote candidates outside the Toronto area may be considered.
Salary: CAD 90,000–120,000 per year.

What you will do
- Research, write, and edit manuscripts, congress abstracts, posters, slide presentations, training materials, and other medical communications deliverables.
- Review study data and distill scientific information into accurate, thorough, and well-written content.
- Apply current AMA style and good publication practices across deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients on highly visible pharmaceutical and medical technology projects.
- Manage project development processes, standardized file naming, version control, and delivery deadlines.
Requirements
- MD, PhD in the life sciences, or PharmD required.
- At least four years of experience writing peer-reviewed publications, congress abstracts, posters, and slide decks in an agency setting.
- Ability to independently write and edit scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and training materials.
- Understanding of preclinical and clinical drug development, biological fields, AMA style, and good publication practices.
- Excellent verbal communication, collaboration, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work onsite or remotely according to the role's location arrangement.
