Associate Actuary – Value Based Payments (Seattle Health)

Location: Based out of the hirify.global office in Seattle, Washington; in-office work is preferred, and remote candidates anywhere in the United States will be considered.

Salary: $88,800–$208,380 per year, with ranges varying by state and experience.

What you will do

• Analyze healthcare data and interpret Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
• Build financial models for value-based payment and provider risk arrangements.
• Write reports that explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Manage consulting projects through completion within budget.
• Supervise actuarial students and less-experienced actuaries on technical project work.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to new business generation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
• ASA designation.
• At least 7 years of healthcare actuarial experience, including 4 years in consulting or advisory work supporting health plans, state Medicaid agencies, or ACOs.
• At least 5 years of experience with value-based payment arrangements and 3 years leading Medicare and/or Medicaid VBP work.
• Proficiency with Excel and some knowledge of SAS, SQL, Python, or R.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with REACH/LEAD, MSSP, AHEAD, TEAM, managed Medicaid, or Medicare Advantage provider risk programs.
