Sr. Principal Lead Health Actuary Consultant

Location: US office locations; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office or onsite with clients

Base salary: $175,000–$225,500 per year, with potential performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Lead client engagements involving health benefits strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewals, benchmarking, and insurance placement.
• Develop financial projections, IBNP valuations, employee contribution analyses, well-being initiatives, and renewal recommendations.
• Review junior staff analyses for actuarial soundness, correct model and product usage, and quality of delivery.
• Perform complex health care cost analyses and projections using or adapting pricing models and tools in Excel, SAS, and other software.
• Prepare and review client reports and presentations, recommend strategies and plan designs, and serve as a primary financial client contact.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in an actuarial field; consulting experience is preferred.
• ASA or FSA credential.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Project management, creative problem-solving, teamwork, and the ability to work under tight deadlines and changing client needs.
• Availability to work in a US office or onsite with clients at least three days per week.
