Actuarial Analyst Intern

Location: Hybrid role based in Chicago, Houston, or another Marsh office in the central United States; at least three days per week in the office or onsite with clients.

What you will do

• Analyze healthcare data using spreadsheet and database management software.
• Prepare client communications, proposals, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Develop basic cost projections using client cost and enrollment data.
• Price medical and prescription drug plan designs with proprietary actuarial tools.
• Model alternative plan designs, programs, and employee contributions to meet employer financial targets.
• Build foundational underwriting and actuarial skills through health plan design and cost-factor analysis.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, or a related field.
• Expected graduation in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Minimum preferred GPA of 3.0/4.0 and a record of strong academic achievement.
• Commitment to achieving a Society of Actuaries designation.
• Permanent, ongoing legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced programming experience with R, Python, SAS, or SQL.
• Knowledge of data analysis, project management, and presentation design.
